Winter Yukata

A Winter Yukata is an oxymoron, I know: a Yukata is a light unlined cotton Kimono reserved for summer. But I love to make Yukata from quilter's printed cotton, and I found this wonderful checkered snowflake printed cotton on sale after Christmas one year and fell in love with it. It will keep me cool in the summer!

The Pre-tied Obi was made from white tone on tone checkered jacquard, from the decoration section of my favourite fabric store, also on sale. It was my first attempt at making such an Obi, and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself.

Made during the course of one week-end for #KimonoDreams Winter Desing Contest (just before the contest closed, of course).
