Patchwork Table Runner

In my quest to have a greener Christmas 2011, I made this table runner as a gift for my aunt and uncle. It was my first attempt ever at patchwork and it is far from perfect, but I like it. I was going for a Pier 1 ethnic feel and I think I achieved it.

All fabrics used are scraps from various costume project. Squares are approx. 5 cm finished measurement. I lined the runner with black cotton. I sew a gold thread down each row of squares for added detail and to fix it to the lining.

The trim was also card woven by yours truly. I hand sew it to the runner's edge.
